Welcome to Nzinga Dance

African and African Caribbean Dance Drum and Song is a Story telling of the history, legends and traditions of Africa. We celebrate the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Africa with pride, and enhance cross-cultural knowledge and appreciation of Africa's unique Story as brought to life via the arts. 

Nzinga Dance perform African and African Caribbean cultural Dance, Drum, Song and Folklore. We perform at corporate and launch events, schools and community events, Arts festivals and events.  We also offer a range of educational arts workshops including African Dance, Caribbean Dance, Afro- Street Dance,  African Drumming, Caribbean Drumming, African Singing,  Storytelling, Arts & Crafts, African cookery.

3pm at the Horniman Museum 100 London Road SE23. Entrance free, arrive early to ensure seat.


AFRICAN SONG WORKSHOP
Sunday 25 July 2009
Horniman Museum
2-3.15pm. £5

Learn uplifting traditional songs of Ghana. No experience necessary,  both singers and non-singers welcome, bring your vocals and enthusiasm.  No advance booking necessary, please turn up for class with correct payment.

This workshop is being held as part of the Sing London -uniting the city in song season

SOCALYPSO!!
Sunday 22 August 2009 Horniman Museum
2-4pm.  £10.

Get into the Carnival spirit at this fun and energetic dance class for adults.  Learn dance moves and routines to the rhythms of soca ,zouk, calypso.  This class will also incorporate traditional Caribbean dance. No dance experience necessary...flags, whistles, freestyling welcome!  No pre-booking necessary, please just turn up for class with correct payment

We sell African Drums and also offer drum  repair, tuning and skin replacement.

Private tuition 

Individual or small group Dance and Drumming lessons can be provided.  Please note - for individual or small group Drum tuition, student(s) must have own drum.
